Wild Thyme Coffee House is located on Saturna Island, The cafe is situated inside a vintage Leyland double-decker bus. Built for Southend on Sea in 1963, The bus operated in public transport between 1963 - 1976
From Southend to Edmonton Alberta
In 1978 our bus was selected as mascot and team transport during the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Alberta.
Found Dead in a tow yard in Surrey BC
In 2012, the bus was discovered in a tow yard nearly ready for the crusher. Many of the windows had been smashed out, allowing for weather to freely pour in over the majority of the last decade. A few bullet holes decorated her sides.
The Project
Aleah and her friends completely gutted and then transformed the Bus into a fully functional cafe. All in less then 6 months and without access to a hardware store on our remote island. So visit us in person, hop aboard the bus and experience your own nostalgic adventure today!
